Guest filmmaker Maddin introduces a personal favorite--Jean Vigos classic schoolboy revolt film, screened with live sound courtesy of Recluse Raccoon. Immediately after, Maddin will screen his film, Cowards Bend the Knee, the initial entry in his “trilogy”, comprised of ten short films set between 1930-1960. Its adapted from a ten part peephole exhibition and recalls Fritz Langs Dr. Mabuse series; plus, Heart of the World, containing over 500 shots in its five minute RT, and winner of a Genie for “Best Short Film”. TRT 120 min.
